Hen Do Planning Checklist for a BAAAARILLIANT time at Farm Adventure

🍾 Well firstly, we start with a Congratulations to the bride-to-be and to the friend/sister/family member given the responsibility of arranging a hen do that everyone is going to enjoy! 🥂 The excitement of lots of ideas and deciding what the bride will enjoy most is when you start to delve into a world of trying to please multiple people with varying degrees of budget and ideas! No longer so much fun and lots of organising begins….

At Farm Adventure we have 14 years of experience helping and guiding lots of lovely groups to enjoy a successful hen do weekend that is sure to keep the group entertained and provide lots of laughs and happy memories for years to come! 🙌

💍Step 1: Gather the Troops

Be sure to get the brides👰‍♀️ input so everyone is invited that she would like there! Get the invite out in plenty of time and set a clear RSVP deadline – this will help save you having to send extra reminder messages chasing responses! Remember – quantity isn’t always quality – our minimum group number at Farm Adventure is 8 people for activities. Smaller group doesn’t mean fewer laughs! 😄

🗓️ Step 2: Choose a Date

Select a few dates that work with the bride and key guests – don’t give too many options as this only causes more chaos! A hen do can be enjoyed all year round – come sunshine or rain – you can get them wellies on ready to embrace the beautiful outdoors! 🌦️

📍Step 3: Pick your Location

Logistics of gathering a group for a 1 day or 3 days can be tricky. 🚗 Deciding on how long you want to travel can help narrow down how far you go, and the style of hen do should guide you to an area, city, beach or beautiful countryside!

Farm Adventure offers two locations:

🌄 Yorkshire – settled on top of a hill, as the farm name suggests Hilltop Farm, with gorgeous views overlooking the beautiful countryside. Masham, nearest town (3 miles away) with 5 pubs, 2 breweries and a gin distillery! 🍸

🌿Shropshire – set just across the Welsh boarder, a great location with open country surrounds and local attractions nearby like Chester and Wrexham Football Club – you could just bump into Ryan Renolds 👀🤞

🏡 Step 4: Book Accommodation

Accommodation is important if you are looking for a home from home to get everyone relaxed or simply use it as a base to enjoy your time socialising! Whether you want something different like glamping but with home comforts like central heating, kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom – our Shepherds Huts could be the answer! Or… our stunningly converted barn, Shepherds Lodge and newly renovated Cow Byre are like a home from home but with capacity to sleep up to 32 people! Oh, and let us not forget no farming hen do experience is complete without a hot tub! Must have perk – two hot tubs per accommodation unit in Yorkshire and 1 hot tub in the Spaaa Area in Shropshire for your exclusive use! 🫧

🚜 Step 5: Plan Activities

The fun part – Ultimate Farmer or Farmer Warrior!

This is where you have the chance to get involved with sheep, pigs and more…..you take part in activities with a great spin on farming and the opportunity to tick off some bucket list experiences too – such as driving (well actually racing!) our real John Deere Tractors! Your group can embrace the opportunity to get dressed up to whatever theme takes your fancy – blow up animals, cowgirls, grannies… the possibilities are endless – GO WILD! 🤠

For those of you with great balance and lots of energy our greasy pole could be just what you need 🤼‍♀️……. channel your inner gladiator to knock your opponent off the pole using a sack of hay, don’t worry there are crash mats to soften the fall!

🍔 Step 6: Food Time

Our signature BBQ lunch – Aberdeen Angus beef burger plus a juicy pork sausage with all the trimmings! We cater for vegetarians and vegans too with a delicious veggie packaged burger in a crispy breadcrumb. Our Farm Adventure team will cook and prepare your BBQ for the finish of the activities…. the smell whilst completing the last couple of activities get your taste buds salivating! Prepare to be hungry 🍔🌱

🎉 Step 7: Add Extras

Butler in the Buff 🤭, Sip and Paint, Bistro Meal or a grazing board are all on offer at Farm Adventure to help create a memorable hen do with minimal stress! We can help arrange and organise the suppliers so you can enjoy the weekend knowing everything is taken care of! There is also opportunity to arrange games and quizzes to suit your group should you wish to.

💳 Step 8: Book it in!

We are here to help as much as possible with a simple booking process, we require a deposit to secure your booking (£80pp for full weekend or £30pp for day visits) and the remaining balance is due 3 months prior to your event date. Simple payment options available via online link or BACS.

📸 Step 9: Make Memories

A hen do that everyone will enjoy and remember for years to come for all the right reasons! Laugh a lot, embrace the chaos, take loads of photos, enjoy…
