ABOUT
Location: Farm Adventure operates from North Yorkshire & Shropshire. These are both working farms with livestock and machinery.
Yorkshire : Hill Top Farm, Ilton, Masham, Ripon, North Yorkshire, HG4 4JY
Shropshire : Sheepfold Farm, Ellesmere Road, Bronington, Whitchurch, SY13 3HD
Anti–bacterial hand soap is provided which you must use with running water to wash hands after being on site, especially when interacting with the animals. Bacteria such as e–coli are not removed with hand gels.
Animals: please avoid touching any of the animals. They can be dangerous, some can bite, as well as carrying bacteria & viruses.
Smoking & Vaping: is only permitted in signed designated areas. Cigarette ends must be disposed of safely. DO NOT smoke or vape in any other area around the farm.
Dogs/Pets: we CANNOT permit guests to bring their pets to site. Please leave all animals at home. We are working farms and cannot allow dogs to wander round the site, even on a lead.
All ATTENDEES ON EITHER SITE MUST BE 16 AND OVER. All activities & experiences are only suitable for people 17+
GROUP ACTIVITIES – HEALTH & SAFETY
All participants must be medically fit and not suffer from epilepsy or any medical condition which may prohibit them from running around, driving, and interacting with animals. The activities aren’t suitable for anyone with heart or breathing difficulties, back, neck or joint problems and pregnant women (see Pregnancy section).
Any limitations in abilities, including but not restricted to, hearing or visual impairments must be disclosed on booking.
It is of utmost importance that we look after all our guests to the best of our ability, and this information is paramount to your booking with us.
TRACTOR DRIVING – HEALTH & SAFETY
Tractor driving is NOT suitable for anyone with any medical condition which could inhibit the safe control of large machinery. This includes, but is not limited to:
– Epilepsy, heart conditions, history of a stroke, neck or back issues (inhibiting full rotation to look backwards) and pregnancy (see Pregnancy section)
Any limitations in abilities, including but not restricted to, hearing or visual impairments must be disclosed on booking.
It is of utmost importance that we look after all our guests to the best of our ability, and this information is paramount to your booking with us.
FARM EXPERIENCE – HEALTH & SAFETY

The Experience will include some tractor driving, which requires a Full UK Driving Licence. Please see Voucher Experiences – On The Day
PREGNANCY
We do not recommend any person who is pregnant, attend site or partake in any of our activities.
Please consult with your doctor on the risks involved with being on a working farm and partaking in any of our activities. We unfortunately are not able to advise the suitability of any of our activities to anyone who is pregnant. We also will be lambing at our North Yorkshire site (may also include Shropshire site too), which increases risks with other infections.
If you do choose to come to Farm Adventure, it will be at your own risk.
Lambing season – assume March to June, but this is subject to change.
FIRST AID
At least one of our Farm Adventure staff on site on any day, are trained Basic First Aiders and will be onsite for any assistance.
A Welfare Kit is available on site containing plasters and antiseptic wipes if you wish to tend to your basic first aid needs.
ALCOHOL & DRUGS
Anyone partaking in any of the activities / experiences, must NOT consume alcohol and take drugs or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs before taking part in the activities/experience. If we suspect that anyone is under the influence of either drink or drugs, we reserve the right to exclude them. No refunds or reschedules will be allowed.
ACCIDENT / LOSS
In the unlikely event of an accident, loss or damage to personal effects, Farm Adventure will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with activities carried out on the Farm premises (except in instances of death or personal injury caused by the Farm’s negligence) and waive all and any claims against the Farm in this respect.
LIABILITY
Farm Adventure do not take liability for the protection of individuals, groups, organisations, businesses, spectators, or others who may participate in activities on the farm premises.
Farm Adventure has Public Liability Insurance with Clear Insurance. For any certificates, please contact our team.
MARKETING:
The team at Farm Adventure take pictures of the events of your day. If you do NOT wish to feature in these photos, please let the team know BEFORE you commence any activities. It will not be a problem to omit you from photographs which are posted to social media for example.
ACCOMMODATION
When staying on site in the accommodation, you will be required to secure a “Good housekeeping” bond of £500 for extensive damages.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Any soiled areas & equipment, including but not limited to, muddied carpets
- Significant volume of damage to kitchenware
- Damage to bedding equipment (ripped, stained and/or soiled mattresses)
- Damage to the fabric and/or equipment of the building
- Refuse/recycling which has been left in the accommodation & not put in the commercial waste bin
- Unsociable behaviour
- Smashed window(s)
- Any false fire alarm activation or dispensing of fire extinguishers for non-emergency use
- Any smoking or vaping in non-designated areas
- Any more than 12 people sleeping in The Cow Byre
- Any more than 8 people sleeping in The Pigsty
- Any more than 24 people sleeping in The Shepherds Lodge
- Any more than 4 people sleeping in each of the Shepherds Huts
- Any damage to the hot tubs, as per completed checklist in the unit.
- Any misuse of the hot tubs, including but not limited to overfilling of persons (max 5 adults), and lids left off while not in use,
NOTE: additional cleaning time shall be charged at £25/hour. Cost of broken/damaged items will be charged at wholesale price.
VOUCHER EXPERIENCES – ON THE DAY
Adverse weather: for all tractor driving experiences where the weather prevents us from having the tractors in the fields, we may need to reschedule a pre–booked date with you. Farm Adventure would contact you as soon as possible and organise an alternative date with you. Please bear this in mind when booking non–refundable accommodation.
All participants must hold a VALID FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE. The photo card must be presented on arrival on site to a Farm Adventure Instructor. This is for the Tractor & Farm Experiences only.
Appropriate clothing must be worn. Footwear must not have a smooth sole. Wellingtons or correctly laced waterproof walking boots suitable for muddy conditions are recommended.
Tractor Driving Experiences : A MAXIMUM of 1 x ADULT (16+) guest may be permitted to attend site with the driver. They will be shown where to wait safely. They will not be able to be present at the tractor with the driver and instructor.
A Farm Experience Voucher is for 2 x adults (17+) only, and no guests will be allowed to attend.
GROUP ACTIVITIES – ON THE DAY
Adverse weather: it is highly unlikely that activities will be cancelled unless due to extreme under weather conditions.
Farm Adventure will determine if activities will need to be cancelled due to weather. Please remember, we aim to continue in all weather conditions which are fair and reasonable to our animals and guests. Wind, rain and snow will not
stop the activities unless deemed dangerous by Farm Adventure.
All participants MUST arrive on site / be present half an hour before their activity time slot, for the Health & Safety briefing of their activities. Failure to be present, can result in not being able to participate in the activities.
All participants MUST be 17 or over, but do NOT need a drivers license to partake in this activity
PAYMENTS
Tractor Experiences & Farm Experiences : all payments made to purchase a Tractor Driving Experience or Farm Experience Voucher, are non–refundable.
Group Activity (day only) Bookings : all payments for group activity bookings are non–refundable. A booking is only secured once the payment has been received by Farm Adventure.
Group Package (overnight) Bookings : All deposit payments for group bookings for activities & accommodation packages, are non–refundable. A booking is only secured once the deposit payment has been made.
Balance payments for all group bookings are payable 3 months before the event date. These are non–refundable.
VOUCHERS – PURCHASING
The Tractor Driving Experiences and Farm Experiences are purchased as a voucher. This is valid for 18 months from the purchase date, and must be redeemed within this time. They are non–refundable.
All Tractor & Farm Experiences run from the North Yorkshire site ONLY. All Experiences run from 1st April to 31st October. We are closed for the Experiences from November to March, but bookings can still be organised for the season, during this time.
Once purchased, the voucher will be emailed as a downloadable link to the person who purchased the voucher.
To redeem the voucher, you will need to have your 4 digit booking reference number and the name of the person who purchased the voucher.
RESCHEDULE
Tractor Experiences : a maximum of 2 reschedules can be offered, with a minimum of 10 working days notice before the experience date. The new date must be within the 18 month expiry date of the voucher.
Farm Experiences : a maximum of 2 reschedules can be offered, with a minimum of 4 weeks notice before the event date. The new date must be within the 18 month expiry date of the voucher.
Package Bookings (activities + accommodation) : a reschedule can only be offered with a minimum of 6 months notice (6 complete months before the event date)
Day Activity Bookings : a minimum of 4 weeks notice must be given.
REFUNDS
Vouchers purchased are non–refundable.
Deposit payments (group activity / accommodation bookings) & Day Activity Payments (activity only bookings) made, are non–refundable.
If a balance payment is made before it’s due, and an event is cancelled by our client, refunds are as follows :
- 1 whole year before the event – a full refund of the balance will be given (excludes the deposit payment), less
a £50 admin fee - More than 6 months before the event – a 50% refund of the balance will be given (excludes the deposit
payment) - Less than 6 months before the event – no refund will be given
Once the balance is paid when due, it is non–refundable
